About the Smilen Elite 42
The Smilen Elite 42 is a cat eye frame made from stainless steel with a full rim design and spring hinges. This women's frame features the angular, upswept shape characteristic of cat eye styling.
This frame measures 58-17-142: a wide 58mm lens width, a 17mm bridge that is average for this lens width, and a standard 142mm temple length. The wide lens width means these glasses will cover more of your face horizontally than narrower frames. To compare with glasses you already own, check the three numbers printed on the inside of the temple—the first number is the lens width, the second is the bridge, and the third is the temple length.

What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.

The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
