About the Affordable Designs AJ
The AJ is a kids' full-rim plastic frame in a small size, with spring hinges that flex when little hands pull the glasses on and off. It comes in three simple colors: Black, Blue and Brown.
It is one size, 46-15-125 (lens height 30.4 mm), made for small faces. Because heads vary at every age, choose by measurement rather than age: if the first number on the temple of your child's current glasses is 44–48, this size will fit. What age is the AJ for?
Sizes depend on head width, not age. Check the measurements on your child's current glasses (46 mm lens width, 15 mm bridge, 125 mm temples) and compare.
Do the AJ frames have spring hinges?
Yes. The spring hinge lets the temple flex outward, which is gentler on a child's head and helps the frame survive daily use.
Can the AJ take progressive lenses?
The 30.4 mm lens height is small, so single vision lenses are the usual choice for this frame.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:

The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
