About the Affordable Designs BOB
The Affordable Designs BOB is a men's rectangular metal frame with a full rim design. Spring hinges allow the temples to flex outward for additional comfort and durability.
This frame comes in one size: 55-17-145 mm, with a lens height of 38 mm. The 55 mm lens width provides a regular fit, and the 17 mm bridge is average for this lens width. To compare with your current glasses, check the numbers printed on the inside of the temple—these measurements will be similar if your frames fit comfortably.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the BOB?
It comes in one size, 55-17-145. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 53–57 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the BOB good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 38 mm. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
