About the Hello Kitty HK283
The Hello Kitty HK283 is a full rim rectangle frame designed for kids. It features spring hinges that allow the temples to flex outward for added durability during active wear.
This frame comes in two size combinations: 48-15-130 and 48-16-125, where the numbers indicate lens width, bridge width, and temple length in millimeters. The 48mm lens width is narrow, and the 15mm bridge is narrow for this lens width, meaning the frame will sit closer on the face than many other glasses. The temple length measures either 130mm or 125mm, which is short compared to standard frames.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the HK283?
It comes in one size, 48-15-130. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 46–50 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the HK283 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
I had never purchased prescription glasses online and therefore was hesitant to do so. Our dog had previously chewed our daughters prescription glasses and destroyed them after just a few months of having them. Our insurance would not cover another pair. I researched bestnewglasses.com and my daughter fell in love with the hello kitty frames! We got her prescription from the doctor and made our purchase. The transaction was very simple & quick. Her glasses came in within a week and we were very pleased and still are. Not to mention that though they were expensive they were cheaper than her last pair! Thank you!
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
