About the New Balance NB515
The New Balance NB515 is a men's square frame with full rims and spring hinges. The square shape works well for those with round or oval faces looking for structured, angular lines.
This frame comes in one size: 49-21-145 (lens width-bridge-temple in millimeters). The 49mm lens width falls on the narrow side of regular, while the 21mm bridge is wide for this lens width, meaning the frame sits farther from your face than most glasses with similar-sized lenses. The 145mm temples are standard length.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the NB515?
It comes in one size, 49-21-145. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 47–51 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the NB515 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
