About the New Balance NB516
The New Balance NB516 is a men's rectangular frame with a full rim design. Spring hinges allow the temples to flex outward for added comfort and durability.
This frame comes in one size: 54-16-145, where 54mm is the lens width, 16mm is the bridge width, and 145mm is the temple length. The 54mm lens width provides a regular fit, and the 16mm bridge is average for this lens width. To compare with glasses you already own, check the three numbers printed on the inside of the temple.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the NB516?
It comes in one size, 54-16-145. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 52–56 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the NB516 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
