About the New Balance NBK140

The New Balance NBK140 is a full rim rectangular frame designed for kids. It features spring hinges for added flexibility and durability during active wear.

This frame comes in one size: 49-14-135 (lens width 49mm, bridge 14mm, temple 135mm). The 49mm lens width falls on the narrow side of regular, while the 14mm bridge is narrow for this lens width, meaning the frame will sit closer to the face than most glasses with similar lens dimensions. The 135mm temple length is short, suited to smaller head sizes.

Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.

Frequently asked questions

Which size is the NBK140?

It comes in one size, 49-14-135. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 47–51 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.

Is the NBK140 good for progressive lenses?

Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.

What are spring hinges?

A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
