About the New Balance NBK148

The New Balance NBK148 is a full rim rectangular frame designed for kids. Spring hinges provide flexibility and durability for active wear.

This frame measures 48-15-125 (lens width 48mm, bridge 15mm, temple 125mm). The narrow 48mm lens width suits smaller faces, while the 15mm bridge sits closer than typical for this lens size, and the 125mm temples are shorter than standard. Compare these measurements to glasses that currently fit well to determine whether this frame will work.

Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.

Frequently asked questions

Which size is the NBK148?

It comes in one size, 48-15-125. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 46–50 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.

Is the NBK148 good for progressive lenses?

Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.

What are spring hinges?

A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
