About the Nike 5538

The Nike 5538 is a square-shaped, full-rim frame designed for kids. Spring hinges provide flexibility and durability for active wear.

Available in two sizes: 49-17-135 with a 35mm lens height, and 52-17-135 with a 37mm lens height. The lens width of 49mm to 52mm is on the narrow side of regular, and the 17mm bridge is average for this lens width. The 135mm temples are short, so compare these measurements to your current glasses to determine fit.

Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose, 49 or 52?

Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 48–50 mm take the 49; if it is 51–53 mm take the 52.

Is the 5538 good for progressive lenses?

The lens height is 35 mm in the 49 and 37 mm in the 52. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.

What are spring hinges?

A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
