About the Ray-Ban RB5279
The Ray-Ban RB5279 features a square shape in acetate plastic with full rim construction and regular hinges. This unisex frame suits those who prefer a structured, angular look.
Available in three sizes: 53-18-145 with 37mm lens height, 55-18-145 with 38mm lens height, and 57-18-150 with 40mm lens height. The lens width of 53mm to 57mm is wide, while the 18mm bridge is average for frames of this lens width. To compare with your current glasses, check the three numbers printed on the inside of the temple.

Is the RB5279 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 37 mm in the 53, 38 mm in the 55 and 40 mm in the 57. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RX5279 and RB5279?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
Boy am I happy I found you guys! My local optometrist offered the omnilux lenses when I first figured out that I needed a multi focal lens. After a couple of years they discontinued them and switched to a different progressive lens that I never quite got used to. If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
