The Ray-Ban RB7840V is a square-shaped, full-rim frame designed for women. The square shape works well for those with round or oval face shapes, providing angular contrast.
This frame comes in four size options: 50-21-145 (lens height 42mm), 50-21-145, 52-21-145 (lens height 44mm), and 52-21-145, with all sizes using a 145mm temple length. The lens width of 50mm to 52mm is on the narrow side of regular, while the 21mm bridge is wide for these lens widths, meaning the frame will sit farther from your face than other glasses with similar lens sizes. Which size should I choose, 50 or 52?
Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 49–51 mm take the 50; if it is 51–53 mm take the 52.
Is the RB7840V good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 42 mm in the 50 and 44 mm in the 52. That is deep, so there is plenty of room for progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RX7840V and RB7840V?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:

The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
