About the Smart S2886
The Smart S2886 is a women's plastic frame with spring hinges. The spring hinges allow the temples to flex outward for additional comfort and durability.
This frame measures 50-17-144 mm (lens width-bridge-temple length) with a lens height of 43 mm. The 50 mm lens width is on the narrow side of regular, and the 17 mm bridge is average for this lens width. To compare with glasses you already own, check the numbers printed on the inside of the temple—if your current frames are around 50 mm for the first number, these will fit similarly across your face.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the S2886?
It comes in one size, 50-17-144. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 48–52 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the S2886 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 43 mm. That is deep, so there is plenty of room for progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
