About the Smilen Elite 44
The Smilen Elite 44 is a square-shaped women's frame made from stainless steel with a full rim design. Spring hinges allow the temples to flex outward for added comfort and durability.
This frame measures 48-16-135 mm (lens width-bridge-temple length). The 48 mm lens width is narrow, suitable for smaller faces, while the 16 mm bridge is average for this lens size. The 135 mm temples are short; to compare, check the temple measurement printed inside your current glasses.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the 44?
It comes in one size, 48-16-135. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 46–50 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the 44 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
Prescription lens options for the Smilen Elite 44
OmniLux® NAL®
– next-gen no-line multifocal lenses, exclusive to BestNewGlasses.com.
Single vision

If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
