About the Flexon E1178
The Flexon E1178 is a semi-rimless metal frame with a rectangular shape designed for men. The Flexon material construction provides memory metal properties, while the semi-rimless design reduces visual weight around the lower portion of the lenses.
This frame comes in one size: 57-16-145 with a lens height of 38mm. The 57mm lens width is wide, and the 16mm bridge is average for this lens width, which means the frame sits at a standard distance from your face. To compare with glasses you currently own, check the three numbers printed on the inside of the temple.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the E1178?
It comes in one size, 57-16-145. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 55–59 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the E1178 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 38 mm. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What does semi-rimless mean?
A metal rim holds the top of the lens and a fine cord holds the bottom edge, so the frame looks lighter than a full-rim style.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
