About the Bocci Eyewear 487
The Bocci Eyewear 487 is a full rim plastic frame designed for kids, with spring hinges that allow the temples to flex outward for durability and comfort. This frame suits children who need a sturdy everyday pair of glasses.
The frame measures 49-15-135 mm (lens width, bridge width, temple length). The 49 mm lens width is on the narrow side of regular, and the 15 mm bridge is narrow for this lens width, making this frame best for children with smaller faces and closer-set eyes. To compare with glasses you already own, check the numbers printed on the inside of the temple.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the 487?
It comes in one size, 49-15-135. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 47–51 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the 487 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
