About the 4U US73
The 4U US73 is a full rim unisex frame with spring hinges. The full rim construction encircles the lenses completely, and the spring hinges allow the temples to flex outward for added comfort and durability.
This frame comes in two sizes: 53-18-145 and 55-18-150, where the numbers indicate lens width, bridge width, and temple length in millimeters. The 53mm to 55mm lens width is a regular fit, and the 18mm bridge is average for lenses this width. To compare with your current glasses, check the numbers printed on the inside of the temple—these measurements will be similar if your frames fit well.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size should I choose, 53 or 55?
Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 52–54 mm take the 53; if it is 54–56 mm take the 55.
Is the US73 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
