About the CAT 3012
The CAT 3012 is a semi-rimless rectangle frame designed for men. The rectangular lens shape and semi-rimless construction create a streamlined appearance that suits angular and oval face shapes.
This frame measures 57-18-150: the lens width is 57mm (wide), the bridge width is 18mm (average for this lens width), and the temple length is 150mm (long). The wide lenses provide substantial coverage, while the average bridge fits most nose widths proportionally. If your current glasses have temples shorter than 150mm, these will extend further behind your ears.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the 3012?
It comes in one size, 57-18-150. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 55–59 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the 3012 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What does semi-rimless mean?
A metal rim holds the top of the lens and a fine cord holds the bottom edge, so the frame looks lighter than a full-rim style.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
