About the Ray-Ban RB8424
The Ray-Ban RB8424 is a rectangle-shaped metal frame with a full rim design. The unisex styling works for both men and women who prefer angular frame shapes.
This frame comes in two sizes: 55-18-145 with a 36mm lens height, and 57-18-145 with a 38mm lens height. The lens widths of 55mm and 57mm are wide, while the 18mm bridge is average for these lens widths, and the 145mm temples are standard length. To compare with your current glasses, check the three numbers printed on the inside of your temple arm.

Which size should I choose, 55 or 57?
Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 54–56 mm take the 55; if it is 56–58 mm take the 57.
Is the RB8424 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 36 mm in the 55 and 38 mm in the 57. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RB8424 and RX8424?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:

The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
