The Ray-Ban RB6489 is a full rim metal frame in a pilot shape. This unisex style works for those who prefer the classic aviator-inspired look in an optical frame.
Available in two sizes: 55-14-140 with a 48mm lens height, and 58-14-140 with a 50mm lens height. The lens width measures wide at 55mm to 58mm, while the 14mm bridge runs narrow for frames with this lens width, meaning the frame sits closer at the nose than typical wide-lens glasses. Which size should I choose, 55 or 58?
Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 54–56 mm take the 55; if it is 57–59 mm take the 58.
Is the RB6489 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 48 mm in the 55 and 50 mm in the 58. That is deep, so there is plenty of room for progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RX6489 and RB6489?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
