About the Ray-Ban RB6579
The Ray-Ban RB6579 is a square-shaped metal frame with a full rim design. This unisex frame works for those who prefer square geometry and the durability of metal construction.
Available in two sizes: 56-18-140 with a 40mm lens height, and 58-18-145 with a 42mm lens height. The lens width of 56mm to 58mm is wide, while the 18mm bridge is average for frames with this lens width. To compare with your current glasses, check the three numbers printed on the inside of the temple.

Which size should I choose, 56 or 58?
Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 55–57 mm take the 56; if it is 57–59 mm take the 58.
Is the RB6579 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 40 mm in the 56 and 42 mm in the 58. That is deep, so there is plenty of room for progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RX6579 and RB6579?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:

The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
