About the Ray-Ban RB7017
The Ray-Ban RB7017 is a rectangular plastic frame with full rims, designed for men. The rectangular shape works well for those with round or oval face shapes, providing structure and definition.
This frame comes in two sizes: 54-17-145 with a lens height of 33 mm, and 56-17-150 with a lens height of 34 mm. The lens width of 54 mm to 56 mm is wide, while the 17 mm bridge is average for frames of this lens width. To compare with your current glasses, check the numbers printed on the inside of the temple—these measurements will be similar if you typically wear wide frames.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses. Ray-Ban case included; one-year warranty against manufacturer's defects.
Frequently asked questions
Which size should I choose, 54 or 56?
Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 53–55 mm take the 54; if it is 55–57 mm take the 56.
Is the RB7017 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 33 mm in the 54 and 34 mm in the 56. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RX7017 and RB7017?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
