About the Ray-Ban RB8421
The Ray-Ban RB8421 is a square-shaped metal frame with a full rim design. This unisex frame works for those who prefer the clean lines of a square shape in a metal construction.
Available in two sizes: 52-19-145 with a lens height of 39mm, and 54-19-145 with a lens height of 40mm. The lens widths of 52mm and 54mm provide a regular fit, while the 19mm bridge is average for frames of this lens width. To compare with your current glasses, check the three numbers printed on the inside of the temple.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses. Ray-Ban case included; one-year warranty against manufacturer's defects.
Frequently asked questions
Which size should I choose, 52 or 54?
Check the first number on the temple of your current glasses. If it is 51–53 mm take the 52; if it is 53–55 mm take the 54.
Is the RB8421 good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 39 mm in the 52 and 40 mm in the 54. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RX8421 and RB8421?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
