About the Smilen Elite 3
The Smilen Elite 3 features a rectangular shape crafted from acetate in a full rim design. This women's frame includes spring hinges for flexibility and durability. The rectangular shape works well for those with round or oval face shapes.
This frame measures 53-16-140: a 53mm lens width (regular fit), 16mm bridge (average for this lens width), and 140mm temples (standard length). The 53mm lens width provides a regular fit suitable for most wearers, while the 16mm bridge sits at an average width for glasses of this size. To compare with your current glasses, check the numbers printed on the inside of the temple arm.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the 3?
It comes in one size, 53-16-140. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 51–55 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the 3 good for progressive lenses?
Yes. Progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses can be made in this frame. If you would like us to confirm the fit for your prescription, contact us before you order.
What are spring hinges?
A small spring in the hinge lets the temple flex outward slightly, which reduces pressure at the sides of your head and helps the frame last.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
