About the Ray-Ban RB2242VF
The Ray-Ban RB2242VF is a full rim acetate frame with an oval shape. This unisex design works for wearers looking for a classic oval silhouette in a durable acetate construction.
This frame comes in one size: 53-22-150, with a lens height of 38mm. The 53mm lens width provides a regular fit, while the 22mm bridge is wide for this lens width, sitting farther from the nose than typical frames. The 150mm temples are long, extending further than standard. To compare with your current glasses, check the numbers printed on the inside of the temple arm.
Order the frame on its own or add prescription lenses made in our U.S. lab: single vision, OmniLux® NAL® lenses or progressives, and prescription sunglasses with Transitions®, tinted or polarized lenses. Free U.S. shipping on every order with prescription lenses. Ray-Ban case included; one-year warranty against manufacturer's defects.
Frequently asked questions
Which size is the RB2242VF?
It comes in one size, 53-22-150. If the first number on the temple of your current glasses is 51–55 mm, it will fit you in a similar way.
Is the RB2242VF good for progressive lenses?
The lens height is 38 mm. That works with progressive, OmniLux® NAL® and iLux™ lenses.
What is the difference between RB2242VF and RX2242VF?
Nothing in the frame. One is the engraved code and the other is Luxottica's catalogue code for the prescription version. We list both so it matches your optician's paperwork.
If you already own a pair of glasses, you'll find numbers engraved on the inside of the eyewear temple. These numbers indicate the following:
LENSWIDTH (A)—
BRIDGEWIDTH (DBL)—
TEMPLELENGTH—
LENSHEIGHT (B)—
The first number is the lens width followed by the bridge width. The third number represents the temple length, or the measurement of the arms of your frame. In some cases there may be a fourth number that indicates the lens height. Measurements in mm.
